“Before You Do” ~ Premarital Class

In our society we tend to spend more time getting ready for the wedding than preparing for the marriage. As a result, many beautiful wedding days are followed by years of misery or, at best, minimal happiness. In fact, it is only after the wedding, when the couple settles into daily routines, that each person’s temperaments — positive and negative — begin to surface. At that point, individual needs, frequently manifested through attitudes, mannerisms, and sometimes troublesome characteristics, become obvious. If these needs are expressed, discussed, understood, and in some way, resolved or accepted, then the marriage builds and grows. When the differences or needs are ignored or denied, the marriage begins to weaken.  Within this context, then, it is important that we help people prepare for “The Marriage.  The Premarital Class Before You Do has been constructed to help couples understand what’s at stake in the conjugal union and how best to address one another’s needs for lasting fulfillment.

Qualifications for class:

1. You are engaged
2. You think you want to be engaged
3. You are dating
4. You are considering marriage
5. You must spend 20 hours in class and have an additional meeting with Dr. Paul D. Landrew.

If any of the above qualifications apply, you need this class.

Pre-Marital Classes

Classes will be held at 5815 Airline Dr. Houston, Texas 77076 on the following dates:

· Friday, August 19, 2011 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

· Saturday, August 20, 2011 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

· Friday, August 26, 2011 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

· Saturday, August 27, 2011 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Cost per couple: $100.00

Please note:

$100.00 fee for the August Pre-Marital Class must be paid in full by August 12, 2011 with no exceptions.
